Strategic Partnership to Empower a New Digital Generation and Support Qatar’s Knowledge-Based Economy in Line with Qatar National Vision 2030
Doha, Qatar; 16 October 2025: In a qualitative step towards enhancing digital capabilities in Qatar, Lusail University, in collaboration with Huawei, a global leader in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions, officially inaugurated the Advanced Artificial Intelligence Lab within the Huawei ICT Academy. The initiative aims to empower a new generation of digital talents capable of leading the transformation toward a knowledge-based economy.
Alia Al-Bloushi, a student from the College of Information Technology at Lusail University, participated in the “First Gulf Cybersecurity Hackathon,” which aims to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in cybersecurity across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The competition was organized under the supervision of the GCC Chief Information Security Officers, with the goal of encouraging youth to develop innovative solutions to cybersecurity challenges faced by both the public and private sectors.
The hackathon also included workshops to prepare participants and support them in turning their ideas into executable projects.
Lusail University is proud to announce that student Alia Abdullah Al-Bloushi, who represented the State of Qatar as part of a team comprising elite students from the Gulf countries, achieved one of the top positions in the Cybersecurity Drill held during the 2025 Gulf Cybersecurity Forum. The student was honored by the Deputy Minister.
This achievement reflects Alia’s academic and professional excellence, as well as her active contribution to enhancing her team’s capabilities in one of the most prominent regional competitions in the field of cybersecurity.
