Inauguration of the College of Information Technology at Lusail University

Lusail University announced the inauguration of the College of Information Technology and the launch of a new package of diverse academic programs that are the first of their kind in the State of Qatar, during the Open Day organized by the university at the Company House courtyard in Msheireb. Dr. Nitham Hindi, University Provost, stated that the new programs provide a number of options in four different colleges: the College of Law, the College of Commerce and Business, the College of Education and Arts, and the College of Information Technology.

He revealed that starting from the Fall 2022 semester, the university will offer (13) new programs, some in Arabic and others in English. These include: B.Ed. in Teaching English (English), B.A. in Political Science (Arabic), and B.Ed. in Counseling and Mental Health (Arabic) in the College of Education and Arts. The College of Law offers a Bachelor of Law (Arabic). The College of Commerce and Business offers: B.B.A. in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Arabic), B.B.A. in Insurance and Risk Management (Arabic), B.B.A. in Human Resources (Arabic), B.B.A. in Marketing (Arabic), B.B.A. in Management (Arabic), and B.B.A. in Supply Chain Management (Arabic). The College of Information Technology offers: B.S. in Cybersecurity (English), B.S. in Artificial Intelligence (English), and B.S. in Video Game Design and Development (English). This comes while retaining existing programs such as the Bachelor of Law from Sorbonne University (French) and B.B.A. in Logistics Resource Management in partnership with Shippensburg University (English).

Regarding admission policies, Ms. Fatma Mansour Al-Musleh, Vice President for Student Affairs, explained that for the College of Education and Arts and the College of Commerce and Business (Arabic track), the applicant must be proficient in Arabic and have a minimum of 65% in high school. For the College of Information Technology, the requirement is at least 65% in high school and proficiency in Mathematics, which can be proven through scores in ACT (24), SAT (550 or 570 depending on the version), Accuplacer (235), or 70% in high school mathematics.
