On Monday, 17 November 2025, Lusail University hosted the fourth edition of Sustainable Development Day, with the distinguished participation of more than 200 female and male students from various academic programs. This year’s event was held under the theme “Sustainability Is a Shared Responsibility,” reaffirming the university’s commitment to supporting national sustainability efforts, enhancing environmental awareness among students, and empowering them to engage in initiatives that contribute to the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The activities and lectures focused on linking theoretical knowledge with practical application by discussing ways to integrate sustainability into daily life, the role of educational institutions in promoting environmental awareness, and highlighting leading national initiatives aimed at addressing climate change and protecting natural resources.
The Center for Training and Continuing Education at Lusail University organized a roundtable on “Universities’ Contribution to Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Qatar.” This event marked the beginning of collaboration with CIFAL, a network of training centers under the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
The roundtable featured distinguished participants from the fields of education and sustainable development. Discussions focused on the crucial role of universities and the challenges students face in pursuing the SDGs in today’s world.
