Overview

In light of rapid scientific advancement, openness, and increasing competition among higher education institutions, there is always room for further progress and excellence. Lusail University aspires to achieve this through its Quality Assurance Department. The establishment of the Quality Assurance Department at Lusail University is closely associated with the founding of the University itself, driven by a fundamental and noble objective: continuous development and enhancement of performance in accordance with national, regional, and international standards. This is pursued through the principles of trust, support, collaboration, openness, transparency, and a strong sense of responsibility among the various University units, as well as with external reference institutions and stakeholders. The Department also ensures the involvement of beneficiaries—students, graduates, faculty members, administrative staff, employers, and community members—in planning and evidence-based evaluation processes.

To contribute to development and ensure the quality of academic and institutional performance at Lusail University in accordance with the latest local, regional, and international quality assurance and accreditation standards.

Goals

To develop general policies and establish quality-related programs and procedures for Lusail University, its colleges, departments, and administrative units, while monitoring their implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement on a regular basis.

To promote a culture of quality and accreditation within the Lusail University community (faculty members, staff, and students) through:
1. Approving and monitoring academic and administrative performance standards and indicators across all University units.
2. Evaluating performance based on quality assurance and accreditation indicators for both administrative and academic units.
3. Providing support and consultation to University units regarding quality assurance and academic accreditation.
4. Organizing University activities related to the preparation and implementation of evaluation, accreditation, and quality assurance plans.
5. Establishing quality and accreditation teams and committees and monitoring their performance.
6. Building academic and professional relationships with distinguished universities and institutions in the field of quality assurance and accreditation.
7. Strengthening efforts to enhance the University’s academic and professional ranking.
8. Developing specialized expertise in quality assurance, evaluation, and accreditation.
9. Supervising the development and implementation of excellence and innovation awards in academic and administrative performance.
10. Identifying stakeholders’ expectations and satisfaction requirements (students, parents, and employers) and communicating them to all relevant University units.

3. Establishing quality systems and designing and developing standards and procedures for all University activities.
4. Developing measurable self-assessment standards aligned with national, regional, and international higher education quality standards.
5. Establishing quality units across colleges, centers, and administrative departments; supervising and coordinating their work; and providing technical support.
6. Overseeing institutional and/or program-level self-assessment processes and procedures.
7. Providing decision-makers with relevant information and advisory support to facilitate continuous improvement.
8. Preparing the University, in all its components and activities, for internal and external institutional and programmatic accreditation.
9. Contributing to the development of comprehensive databases related to workforce, activities, and programs to support efficient decision-making and enhance performance.
10. Designing, implementing, and evaluating programs aimed at improving staff performance in accordance with their professional needs.
11. Contributing to the establishment of excellence and innovation awards to foster competition among University units and personnel.

Strategy and Means

To fulfill its mission and achieve its objectives, the Department adopts a strategy based on quality assurance and continuous performance improvement across all University structures and activities, within the framework of the University’s strategic plan and through strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders. This is achieved through:

1. Preparing for implementation by promoting and reinforcing a culture of planning, evaluation, quality, and performance improvement, and fostering positive attitudes toward these concepts among all staff.
2. Establishing effective and strategic partnerships with relevant entities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries at the local, regional, and international levels.
3. Developing research-based systems to identify stakeholders’ interests, measure their satisfaction with the University’s outputs, and assess their expectations and feedback.
4. Contributing to the development of the University’s strategic, executive, and operational plans using scientific planning methodologies.
5. Designing and implementing institutional and human capacity-building programs.
6. Highlighting all activities, events, best practices, and innovative initiatives across the University’s academic, research, and community service domains.
