Strategic Partnership to ``Empower a New Digital Generation and Support Qatar’s Knowledge-Based Economy in Line with Qatar National Vision 2030
Doha, Qatar; 16 October 2025: In a qualitative step towards enhancing digital capabilities in Qatar, Lusail University, in collaboration with Huawei, a global leader in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions, officially inaugurated the Advanced Artificial Intelligence Lab within the Huawei ICT Academy. The initiative aims to empower a new generation of digital talents capable of leading the transformation toward a knowledge-based economy.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Nizam Hindi, President of Lusail University; Mr. Alex Dai, Executive Vice President of Huawei in the North Gulf region; and representatives from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
This lab represents a pivotal addition to Qatar’s technical education ecosystem, combining academic knowledge with industrial practice. It provides students with a unique opportunity to train on Huawei’s latest AI and cloud computing solutions, enhancing their readiness for the rapidly evolving digital labor market.
Prof. Dr. Nizam Hindi, President of Lusail University, said:

The inauguration also coincided with the launch of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 at Lusail University, inviting students to participate in a prominent platform to showcase their digital skills and qualify for regional and international competitions.
Through this collaboration, Lusail University and Huawei open a new chapter in advancing technological education in Qatar, aiming to cultivate a creative generation of digital leaders capable of driving innovation and achieving national digital transformation.
