The following are the educational learning objectives for the MA in TESOL & Applied Linguistics program.

4. Develop students’ technological, analytical, and critical skills for evaluating and adapting English language teaching models, approaches, and resource materials, reflecting sensitivity to the learning context and local culture.

Below are the admissions criteria for the Master of Arts in TESOL &Applied Linguistics.

1. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar.

• • The cumulative GPA upon graduation must not be less than 2.8 or its equivalent.

OR

• • If the cumulative GPA upon graduation is between (2.79-2.0) or its equivalent, the applicant must have a minimum of three years of post-graduation work experience.

2. The preferred degree should be in English language teaching (ELT), English linguistics, English literature or TESOL/TESL. Applicants whose undergraduate education are in non-related fields will be required to take and successfully complete a total of 9 credit hours of the following bridging courses at Lusail University with a grade of C and above:

• BTAL 501 Introduction to Linguistics
• BTAL 502 Teaching Methods and Classroom Management
• BTAL 503 Advanced Grammar

3. Applicants applying to the program must show proof of English language proficiency through an IELTS minimum score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6 band on all modules.
4. Two recommendation letters from former or current teachers, employers, or other individuals familiar with the applicant’s qualifications are required. The recommendation letters should be sent directly via email to Lusail University.
5. Applicants must pass the personal interview with the MA college admission committee.
