The book on human rights includes an explanation of the nature of human rights and outlines the historical development of this concept within global legal systems up to the era of modern international regulation. It also presents the principles, characteristics, and significance of human rights. The book then discusses international human rights law, its sources, and the legal protection afforded to human rights, as well as the role of international, regional, and national mechanisms. It highlights the role of regional and international judicial bodies that work to protect these rights, such as the International Criminal Court, which is considered one of the most important mechanisms for safeguarding human rights, in addition to the role of non-governmental organizations in protecting and promoting human rights. The book further provides clarification of the relationship between international human rights law and other branches of law. It also addresses the role of the State of Qatar in protecting and promoting human rights at the domestic level through its national legislation, which reflects its respect for international human rights instruments, particularly the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This is presented through an overview of the roles of the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs, as well as the National Human Rights Committee and its function in protecting, promoting, and disseminating a culture of human rights in Qatar.
