Dr. Ibrahim al-Nuaimi: Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Ibrahim al-Nuaimi received his bachelor's degree from Qatar University in 1977 and a Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Southern California, USA in 1983. He began his academic career as an assistant professor and then associate professor until he became professor of organic chemistry at Qatar University since 1996.
He held several academic and administrative duties, including Dean of the Faculty of Science (1990-1994), President of Qatar University (1994-1999), Founder and President of the Dutch CHN University in Qatar (2000-2006), and Then Chairman of the Committee for Attracting Outstanding Foreign Schools (2006-2008). Dr. Al Nuaimi was appointed chairman of the Qatar Community College Foundation Committee in 2008. He established the college in 2010 and became its president from its inception until 2018, and was appointed by Emiri Decree No. 91 for 2017, as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Dr. Al Nuaimi founded the Qatar Scientific Club and was its president from 1986 to 1990, and has headed the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue since its inception in 2007 to date.
Dr. Al Nuaimi has been a member of several specialized scientific journals, including a member of the editorial board of the Arab Gulf Journal of Science from 1991 to date, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Asian Journal of Chemistry from 1996, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Saudi Chemical Journal since 1999, a member of the Advisory Committee of ajman Research and Studies Magazine, Um Almuaminin Society, UNITED Arab Emirates since 2001, and Member of the editorial board of Adyan magazine published by the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue since 2010.
He has been a member and chair of several committees, and has been a member and then vice-chairman of the State Appreciation and Encouragement Awards Committee since November 2004. He was also Chairman of the Certificate Equivalency Committee since May 2014, as well as a member of the Muslim Contributions to Civilization Center (1990-2006).
Dr. Al Nuaimi received the Medal of GCC in Innovation and Excellence in Science in 1997, the Academic Palm award from the Prime Minister of France in November 1997, and the Annual Volunteer Man Award in Qatar from the Supreme Council for Youth in October 2000.
Dr. Al Nuaimi has completed more than forty scientific researches in the field of organic and metal organic chemistry published in prestigious scientific journals and presented at international conferences.
