Lusail University participated yesterday, in cooperation with the Qatar Athletics Federation, in the ninth edition of the National Sports Day by organizing various sporting events and activities at the Marina Walk in Lusail City. The events were attended by H.E. Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari, Second Vice-President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, and Professor Dr. Nitham Hindi, Lusail University Provost, along with officials from the Qatar Athletics Federation, faculty members, staff, and students in several sports activities and races such as running, walking, and tug-of-war, in addition to athletics competitions organized for children.
H.E. Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al-Kuwari stated: "The National Sports Day reflects the vision of the wise leadership in building society. It is a message to everyone to make sports part of the culture of the individual and society. I encourage everyone to practice sports, invest in physical health, and make it a curriculum for a healthy life." For his part, Dr. Nitham Hindi expressed his happiness with the various activities, noting that the participation of students and staff was an embodiment of the sportsmanship enjoyed by Lusail University members.
Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Tamimi, Dean of the College of Education and Arts, added: "It is our pleasure to partner with the Qatar Athletics Federation in organizing the National Sports Day activities. Dedicating a day to celebrate sports expresses the insightful vision of the state's leadership and its belief in the importance of sports and the human values they represent in building society. Lusail University pays great attention to celebrating this day to encourage the academic community to focus on sports, as it is an important aspect contributing to the success of the educational process and embodies the university's mission to promote sustainable development and build a physically and mentally healthy society."
