His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Secretary-General of the National Planning Council, opened the second Career Fair of Lusail University, which was organized by the university over the course of two days, October 23 and 24, 2024, at its headquarters in Lusail City.
More than 50 employers from various private and government sectors and institutions operating in different fields, including education, finance, energy, and law firms, participated in the fair, marking a clear increase from the number of participants in last year's edition. The fair aims to provide a platform for students and graduates to access available job opportunities and discover practical training opportunities, in addition to the academic sponsorship provided by many entities.
The career fair, which was held over two days, included many awareness activities about the labor market and an introduction to the required specializations and necessary skills. On the sidelines of the fair, CV writing workshops were presented to students with the aim of helping them write a professional resume. It is worth noting that the Career Fair is a unique opportunity for employers, students, and graduates as well, as it provides employers with the opportunity for direct interaction with students and graduates and enables them to attract young talent and promising graduates. In return, the fair offers graduates and students a window into their professional future, allowing them to gain insights into available opportunities and labor market requirements.
In this regard, Ms. Taleela Thani Al-Kuwari, Director of Student Life Department, explained the importance of the Career Fair as a direct link between students and the labor market, emphasizing that this event comes in conjunction with the university's continuous growth and development in various fields, reflecting the university's commitment to providing its students with the necessary tools to face the challenges of the modern labor market. She stressed that the university pays special attention to students' career aspirations and seeks to enhance their educational and professional skills until graduation, through organizing workshops, training courses, and exhibitions that focus on developing personal and academic skills.
She also indicated that the participating entities provided distinguished opportunities in line with the aspirations of Lusail University students in different fields, as these opportunities are valuable for students to learn about the best training opportunities and job offers. In conclusion, Al-Kuwari invited all students to make the most of this unique opportunity, noting that their success depends on interaction and active participation in such events.
