Teaching English Language

The Bachelor of Teaching English Language program provides a broad and in-depth study of English as well as teaching English as a foreign language. The program is designed to prepare students to become effective English teachers in K-12.

The program learning outcomes for the Bachelor of Education in English Language Teaching describe the skills, competencies and knowledge that the students will display and possess at the completion of their degree program.

  Upon completion of the program, the student is expected to be able to:
  1. Demonstrate advanced proficiency in spoken English.
  2. Plan effective instruction to maximize school-student learning.
  3. Use English knowledge and skills in context of instruction.
  4. Demonstrate theoretical knowledge in the field.
  5. Demonstrate ethics and/or ethical practice in education.
  6. Use technology in making data driven decisions in education.
  7. Engage in scholarship and research by expanding on knowledge of English Language Teaching.
