Withdrawal – Drop Policy

Back to Policies

Withdrawal from Course

  • Students may withdraw from registered courses and add new courses during the add/drop period specified in the University Academic Calendar. Courses withdrawn during this period will not appear on the academic record.
  • Students may withdraw from a course after the add/drop period until the eighth week (Fall & Spring semesters). In this case, the course will be recorded as “Withdrawn” and will not count toward completed credit hours for graduation requirements.
  • If a student registers for fewer credit hours than the minimum required in the Academic Load Policy, the student will be transferred to part-time status.

Withdrawal / Drop from Semester

  • Students may request withdrawal from the semester without a financial penalty during the add/drop period. The grade “Withdrawn” will not be recorded in the academic record.
  • Newly admitted students are not allowed to withdraw from the semester until completing one semester at the University. Withdrawal will result in cancellation of admission.
  • The withdrawal period is not counted toward the time required to complete graduation requirements.
  • Students may withdraw from the semester with a financial penalty after the add/drop period until the last day of classes. In this case, courses will be recorded as “Withdrawn” and will not count toward completed credit hours for graduation requirements.
  • Students are not allowed to withdraw from the University for more than four semesters. In case of an emergency medical condition, students may submit a request to the Admissions & Registration Office.

Withdrawal from University

  • Students may submit a request for permanent withdrawal from the University during the add/drop period until the last day of classes, after completing the University clearance procedures.
